Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do to safely store my unit for winter?
DO NOT STORE YOUR UNIT FOR A PROLONGED PERIOD OF TIME (OVER 30 DAYS) WITHOUT
PERFORMING PROTECTIVE STORAGE MAINTENANCE:
- Choose a dry, dust free place to store your unit, out of the reach of children.
- Place the stop switch in the “STOP” position.
- Remove any grease, oil, dirt
and/or debris that may have accumulated on the exterior of the unit.
- Perform all
periodic lubrication and services that are required to your gear casings and
shafts, etc.
- Tighten all screws and nuts as required.
- Drain the fuel tank
completely and pull the recoil starter handle several times to remove the
fuel from the carburetor.
- Remove the spark plug and pour 7 cc (1/4 oz) of fresh,
clean, two-stroke engine oil into the cylinder through the spark plug hole.
Place a clean cloth over the spark plug hole while pulling the recoil starter
handle 2-3 times in order to distribute the oil inside the engine. Observe the
piston location through the spark plug hole. Pull the recoil handle slowly until
the piston reaches the top of its travel and leave it there. Re-install the
spark plug but do NOT connect the ignition cable.
